CranioSacral Therapy For Mental Health

A Holistic Approach to Mental Health

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on healing approach that focuses on the CranioSacral system - the membranes and fluid that surround, protect, and nourish the brain and spinal cord.

When we experience stress and tension, our bodies adjust, compensate, and strain. Over time, body tissues tighten and can produce restrictions in the CranioSacral system. This can create barriers to the healthy functioning of the central nervous system as well as all of the other systems that interact with it.

This mind-body approach supports trauma-informed care, somatic conditions, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, and more.

CranioSacral Therapy Can Help:

Expand Therapeutic Outcomes

CST deepens the mind-body connection, enhancing regulation and awareness. It supports trauma resolution by gently working with the nervous system’s rhythms and promotes client engagement and resilience by opening new neural pathways.

Foster Healing & Integration

CranioSacral Therapy is proven to reduce pain, tension, stress, anxiety, and depression while increasing access to emotional and nervous system regulation. It encourages clients to inhabit their bodies more fully and safely. Clients process and integrate emotional insights on a physiological level.

Support Community Care

This gentle, non-invasive care benefits diverse populations, including queer, trans, and neurodiverse folks. CST can be especially helpful for those who’ve experienced systemic trauma or who feel disconnected from traditional care models. It incites a trauma-informed, body-based approach, bridging gaps in community wellness efforts.

How it Works

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, noninvasive form of bodywork designed to increase parasympathetic function of the central nervous system, also known as rest and digest. The light touch combined with the practitioner's neutral intention and nonjudgmental presence creates a deep sense of safety, allowing the body to release restrictions in the muscles and connective tissue creating an optimally functioning nervous system.

At Red Maple CST, you are safe to explore within yourself, as superficially or as deeply as you wish. Renn will follow you, with your consent, into any emotion, memory, and somatic experience you bring to the table.
